Eventznet would like to congratulate their managing director, Sarah Carroll, on being shortlisted for the Innovation Award at the IIA Net Visionary Awards.

The Irish Internet Association (IIA) honours those working in the internet industry in Ireland with the Net Visionary awards each year. Nominations for the awards are made by peers, colleagues and clients, and the IIA members vote to select the shortlist. The Innovation Award that Sarah is shortlisted for was introduced to recognise that the convergence of technology and business ideas can create a specific new perspective on how business and administration in Ireland is conducted.

Sarah is the driving force behind Eventznet, the web-based software service for event organisers. In early 2002 she founded the company to develop and market an automated invitation and response system. Eventznet's first release was the Party Platform (http://www.partyplatform.ie) a free resource where anybody can set up an invite site for their party, and shop for the best of party gifts and supplies.

Since early 2003, Eventznet has been powering event sites for conferences, seminars, networking evenings and training courses. The software allows an event organiser to quickly and easily set up an interactive mini-web site for the event, and send invitations to their guests through personalised, branded e-mails. All responses are recorded in the event organisers' account at Eventznet, centralising all attendee information. Eventznet is used by many types of organisation, including Venturepoint, the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Enterprise Board, the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, the SMILE community and the Pine Forest Children's Art Centre.
