Hi there, I can’t believe that it’s been nearly 8 weeks since I started here - it feels like I've always been here – imagine how the others feel! Before we get into it, a big good luck to Sarah and Robert who are off on their holidays to Vegas for the next two weeks. We are all very jealous here in the office. It’s been quite a month for NEO. Post Events Day we were right back in the driving seat for our members away day, well it was really an afternoon. For those of you who made it down to Derrybawn House, thanks! We couldn’t have done it without you. Read on to see what we got up to…

| Derrybawn House : Members Away Day |
I’ve been waiting for the chance to see Derrybawn House since I began working here in NEO.
The weather was good to us and we arrived in good time…ProBus had picked us up in a swanky silver coach at 12.30pm on St. Stephen's Green. I nearly got us lost! Luckily, Peter our bus driver didn’t listen to me. When we got there, we were greeted by Robbie & Marie from Derrybawn House and we got our first glimpse of this amazing venue. |

6 En-suite bedrooms, each one more extravagant then the last, this is the ideal location for that corporate (or other) event. The House itself has to be seen to be believed, from the Viking Bedroom to the Chichester ‘honeymoon’ Suite. Throughout the tour I was taken aback at the attention to detail that went into restoring the house and grounds. Even the granite steps leading down to their brand new synthetic golf green had been polished. The Viking bed was my favourite though; any bed that has a built in TV has me sold! |
Derrybawn House is not just a home that's open to the public to hire, it also includes an awesome new Treatment Suite – the Courtyard Treatment Suite. Some of our members, including Clara Clark of Clara Clark Event Managment, Ciara Feeley of Inntuition, Gerard Tannam of Islandbridge and Virginie Ripoll of Alchemy Event Management got to sample some of the treatments.
We were there to plan a future for NEO, but that didn’t stop us enjoying the amazing surroundings of Derrybawn House.

Lorna Murphy & Joe Barrett – of Hire All Event and Party Hire – provided the outdoor furniture and their famous canapes to turn the courtyard into an extra outdoor room.
With the weather we had, it was just amazing to be able to sit outdoors on wicker sofas – always ready to run under cover should the rain start! |

Gordon, the estate manager and resident golfer took us all on a round of nearest the pin. Donal Brennan from the Regency Hotel showed us that he is a gifted golfer and we’ve got some great pictures of Sarah hitting the ball, e-mail me for more. However it was me who was put to shame by Gavin Divilly of Caterhire (winner of a bottle of Taittinger champagne courtesy of Febvre), Harry Hill- Aura Productions, Clara Clark and Shane “I’ve never hit a golf ball in my life” Pollard from Magnum Events Ltd. Those pictures are the ones that will never be released.
By 5.00pm we were all hungry and the smell of the food was wafting out from the kitchen. I’ve seen many meals in my time, but few compare to this. Aidan Chadwick and his team from Unique Dining (always smiling and happy) served us up their brand new mini meals. I just kept going back for more,
making it hard to say no even when full to the seams. |
| I was pleasantly surprised how the house could be rented for single occupancy or as individual rooms. This is a gem within the picturesque landscape of Wicklow.
