Paddy Casey has had phenomenal success in the Irish Market - with domestic sales that rival those of U2. His first album Amen (So Be It) was released in 1999 and since then he's released two more - Living and the latest album Addicted to Company (part one). Paddy lives in Kildare, and has an 11 year old daughter, Saoirse.
His reputation as a straight talking, no nonsense musician is well documented. What is perhaps not so well documented is the huge following he has in Ireland and around the World. Rumour has it that at a recent pre-Oscar Party in Los Angeles he only played for 10 minutes, but had luminaries such as Larry Hamby - the man who did the A&R work on the best selling album of all time, Michael Jacksons Thriller - eating out of his hands.
Paddy's music is described as Sly and the Family Stone meet Simon & Garfunkel, songs with blues licks, funky wah-wah guitars and Stax-style trumpets. His lyrics are poignant and soulfull, a veritable modern poet.
